Successful Upgrade to windream Server 5.0 at GRZ IT Center Linz

June 27, 2011 | Bochum. –The GRZ IT Center Linz GmbH in Austria has successfully been using windream for several years. Recently, a Server upgrade to the current windream version 5.0 was carried out. According to GRZ’s report, the entire upgrade process was finished smoothly and without any problems. The computer center now operates five windream main Servers and about 700 windream Proxy Servers controlling the transfer of data between over 7000 connected windream workstations in the national branch offices of the various banks served by GRZ IT.
Already in 2006, the GRZ IT Center Linz started the implementation of an extensive IT solution for supporting their banking-specific business processes in the section of documents. The aim of this complex project was to plan, realize and guarantee the data transfer between several main servers in Linz and the IT workstations in the branch offices of customer banks in several different German Federal Lands. After careful deliberations and tests, the GRZ IT Center finally decided on windream, the only product to correspond adequately to the high requirements of the bank groups.
With the recent update to the current version 5.0 of the windream Server software, the GRZ IT Center Linz successfully completed another large step in their project of networking different bank groups. The IT center is now planning an upgrade of all windream Clients to the current version 5.0. At present, the clients are still working on the basis of windream Client version 4.5.
