The "DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH" decides in favor of windream
Federally owned company for air traffic control purchases corporate windream licence
February 9, 2011 | Bochum. – The "DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH" situated at Langen near Frankfurt, Germany, has decided to use the Enterprise Content Management System windream of windream GmbH, Bochum, in all business sectors and to introduce windream as the standard corporate software. A respective contract has been agreed upon between the Managing Boards of windream GmbH and the DFS. With the DFS, windream wins another renowned and internationally operating enterprise, which - among other tasks - is responsible for controlling the complete air traffic in the German flight sector as a federally owned company.
Decisive criteria: Flexibility and adaptability
The flexibility and the individual adaptability to existing IT-infrastructures were the criteria which led to a decision in favor of windream. Further on, another common requirement was to invest into an ECM-software which can be expanded to a corporate data infrastructure system easily and without any further programming efforts and with which the complete data volumes containing all business-related documents could be administered centrally. According to the "Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH" these requirements are fulfilled by windream without any restriction.
Corporate use
The windream product range that will be used by the DFS in future includes many application sectors: Beginning with the integration of the windream Business Edition into SAP-applications - which mainly serves for administering, archiving and creating purchase and sales files - over a specialized solution for e-mail archiving in Lotus Notes and ending with the administration of CAD-documents, the windream portfolio will cover all company sectors of the DFS. Besides the corporate installation oft the windream ECM-system including the associated system management tool, the DFS will also use windream's Business Process Management Software windream BPM for designing and executing internal business processes. The corporate licence is also used for a hierarchical storage and information lifecycle management.
