windream GmbH at the DMS EXPO 2012: Hall 5, Stand B 11
New solutions and extensions for the windream ECM system
August 27, 2012 | Bochum. – windream GmbH will present a wide variety of new solutions and extensions for the windream Enterprise Content Management system at this year’s DMS EXPO, taking place on the Stuttgart trade fair grounds from October 23 to 25. This includes the premiere of selected features of the upcoming windream BPM version 5.5, the most recent version of the e-mail archiving solution windream Exchange, and windream Bizhub Connect, the windream ECM integration into the multi-function systems of the windream partner Konica Minolta. As in the previous years, the presentation program will be complemented by presentations of the co-exhibiting windream partners. The windream stand will be located in Hall 5; the stand number is B 11.
windream 5.5 preview
The basic features of the upcoming windream version 5.5 include a revised search application with even more refined possibilities for individual adjustments. Furthermore, the windream-internal image and document viewer windream DocView has been extended by a so-called offline mode. This mode allows users to view documents and images outside of a windream environment, e.g. on local storage media. This extension expands the potential areas of use for the viewer significantly. An integrated configuration tool allows users to configure alternative plug-in modules – e.g. Adobe Acrobat for PDF documents, ImageEn, PDF-XChange (from windream 5.5 forward), Inso, or the Windows preview (from windream 5.5 forward) – in addition to the default plug-in libraries, and to assign certain document types to plug-ins via windream DocView. Specific plug-ins allow users to quickly and conveniently view e-mail attachments or the contents of ZIP archives.
New PDF converter
The new windream PDF converter runs on the basis of the Oracle Outside-In libraries, just like windream DocView in its default setting. The PDF converter allows users to convert documents to the PDF format without the specific original applications. Conversions can be triggered via a windream context menu item. If desired, converted documents can also be sent as e-mail attachments, all in one workflow.
windream BPM 5
The new windream BPM version 5 will also be part of the presentation program. The windream Business Process Management system will be extended by a BPM web client, allowing users to manage business workflows via the internet, regardless of their location.
Further exhibits: windream Exchange and windream Bizhub Connect
Further windream products to be presented at the DMS EXPO include the current version of the windream Exchange e-mail archiving solution in the most recent version 5, and the new ECM solution for the multi-function devices developed by the windream partner Konica Minolta Business Solutions Deutschland GmbH. windream Bizhub Connect – this is the name of the new solution – allows users to enter specific document attributes such as invoice numbers and other meta-data directly at the display of Konica Minolta multi-function devices, and to compliantly archive these information and the documents scanned at the device in windream.
Partners at the windream stand
As always, the presentation program will be complemented by a variety of windream partners, who will be presenting their own solutions at the windream partner stand in hall 5. The following partners will be present: Konica Minolta Business Solutions Deutschland GmbH from Langenhagen, One Click Solutions GmbH from Syrgenstein, ReadSoft AG from Frankfurt, and ABBYY Europe GmbH from Munich.
Positive Expectations
Roger David, managing director of windream GmbH, on this year’s trade fair: “For this year’s DMS EXPO and IT & Business, we expect an even closer cooperation between the two IT events, especially since the changes on the trade fair grounds hold many advantages for us. The close proximity of the DMS EXPO in hall 5 and the IT & Business in hall 3 is a positive development. And Stuttgart as a location is strategically important – not only for us, but for the entire economic area of southern and southwestern Germany, as well as for Austria and Switzerland.“
