windream is compatible with Windows 7!
Confirmed by official Microsoft test
October 9, 2009 | Bochum. windream is compatible with Windows 7! This is the result of a complex test of the ECM-system components conducted by the Microsoft corporation. According to the test results, the American Windows supplier officially confirms his “Gold Certified Partner” windream GmbH the compatibility of the windream ECM-system with Windows 7. Thus, windream is the first Enterprise Content Management System worldwide which has been integrated into Windows 7.
windream consolidates technological leadership
Again, the test also confirms the long-term technological leadership of the Bochum based ECM-manufacturer. For more than ten years now, the Enterprise Content Management system windream has been considered the first ECM-, DMS- and – respectively – archiving solution which has ever been integrated into the Windows operating system. The integration into the new version of the Microsoft operating system Windows 7 makes clear that windream will also be the technologically leading product of the ECM-market sector in future.
windream 5.0 features focus Windows 7
The features of the forthcoming windream version 5.0 will completely be oriented towards the “Look and Feel” of Windows 7. The integration of the new windream 5.0 features into the specificly new Windows 7 functions will be of special interest in this context. Thus, among other features, windream 5.0 will support the new “libraries” introduced by Microsoft with separate functions and will enhance the libraries by so called “virtual windream folders”. These virtual folders will allow users to individually sort the document volume of a windream drive – especially if a specific sight on documents and electronic windream folders is required. Throughout the individual configurability of the desired view, users will be able to virtually sort important files, folders and documents according to their specific needs and without having to change the actual storage locations of the documents available in the windream system. In connection with Windows 7 libraries, it is even possible now to make the virtual windream folders visible at different places of the system and – depending on specific requirements – to share them with other users.
