2020 legal opinion confirms auditability

Legal requirements for Germany and Austria "fully" met

Rechtsgutachten News

After 2011 and 2018, in February 2020 we have now also had the latest generation of our ECM-suite, windream 7.0 and the windream archive in version 7.1, reviewed with regard to the legally compliant storage of documents. Just like two years ago, we were able to instruct the expert and lawyer Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Hackenberg to put our system through its paces again in 2020. His result: Both the windream ECM-system and our long-term archive in version 7.1 still meet the legal requirements without any restrictions.

The expert opinion prepared by Prof. Hackenberg literally states: "Since the evaluation of the windream archiving system in 2011 (...) legal regulations have been changed. These changes have been taken into account in this version of the legal opinion. However, the requirements for the legal security of an archive system have not changed. As even the basic procedural concepts and processes of the windream software have not changed, the windream archive system still fully complies with the legal requirements for a proper storage of documents of the Republic of Austria and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Translated English version also available

The current legal opinion is now also available in English and - like the German version - will be provided by windream GmbH on request. However, it should be noted that the English version is only a translation of the German version and therefore has no legal validity. In addition, the legal opinion only proves that the legal requirements for Austria and Germany have been met and is therefore not automatically transferable to the international (language) area. The English version explicitly refers to this fact in an exposed position.
